Software Simulation
Adding Courses to a Learning Management System
Audience: Professionals working with learning management systems who wish to learn how to add courses for their organization
Responsibilities: Instructional design, scriptwriting, recording, editing
Tools Used: Articulate Storyline 360, Audacity
Overview
This software simulation showcases a technical skillset within Storyline, while also demonstrating knowledge and experience with learning management systems.
It was important to capture crisp screenshots using the same aspect ratio as the Storyline slides, creating a realistic, authentic simulation.
As a way to guide the user to the correct clicking points, looping animations were designed with layers and motion paths that triggered in and out as the user selected points not included in the simulation.
The project also includes a professional-feeling player that includes accessibility features such as an available transcript and closed-captioning.

Storyboard
After defining the specific steps of the process, I wrote a script and storyboard to establish all key points. This was then developed into dialogue using language suited for the target audience. I used text-to-speech narration as place holders during development to better gauge the length, and then made revisions with Audacity to finalize the audio and visual alignment.
